To Tab or Not To Tab? That’s the Question for Facebook Page Admins. Via Alison Zarrella

“The (now-not-so) new updates to the layout of Facebook pages for brands, bringing them in line with the Timeline format, has brought about a lot of changes for marketers. And while the new larger photo and ease of advertising opportunities are major changes, it’s some of the smaller tweaks that brands really need to pay attention to. Namely, the shift away from Facebook tabs, and how this could impact pages down the line.”

As you create a Social Media Crisis Plan, it’s a good idea to look at your PR crisis communication plan and develop a similar plan for social media outlets. Public Relations is built on the foundation of two-way communication. It’s tasked with raising awareness of employers or client’s work and perspectives and learning from and responding to the conversation. Video gives PR pros a visual, engaging and entertaining tool. The availability and ease of use of online video have turned it into a universal medium. “Video sharing sites like YouTube are an excellent way to break the ice because nothing online is as personal and human as a video,” wrote Jamie Carracher on Mashable. CBS Issues Fake (and Totally Awesome) News Release via Spin Sucks

Did you hear the news that CBS sued ABC over their new show called The Glass House?

Apparently CBS thinks it’s a direct rip-off of Big Brother, the reality show that follows a group of strangers living together in a house where they’re recorded and filmed 24/7.

But CBS lost a battle last week when a judge denied the restraining order which would prevent ABC from airing the show.

How To Interview Anyone: 5 Lessons From Amazing Interviewers via Influential Marketing Blog

“One of the most popular forms of content creation today is interviews … but great interviews take a lot more than just coming up with a list of questions.  The sad fact is, not everyone who creates interviews to post online is actually good at doing them. So you might wonder, what do the people who ARE really good at it already know?

Over the last month I’ve done over 30 interviews as part of launching Likeonomics (that’s more than one a day). Across that time, I’ve done everything from answering emailed questions to sitting in a broadcast TV studio. Apart from getting good at sharing soundbites, the last month has really given me an up close look at almost every style of interviewing you can imagine.”
