I took the improv and writing classes at Second City and about half of the people in my classes were business professionals looking to get more comfortable presenting in front of people. It’s amazing how much people can change their outlook on presenting in front of others in 8 weeks.

A major takeaway from the writing program was how to brainstorm effectively. When you brainstorm there should be no judgments and no editing. True creative brainstorming should be about putting out as many ideas as possible, not just the ideas you think are right at the time. When you apply that to the business world, it’s amazing how many creative ideas you can come up with in even a small team.
